About This Forum

This forum has been created to accompany Opera North's Spring 2008 season. The season features three new productions all based on Shakespeare plays: Macbeth (Verdi), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten) and Roméo et Juliette (Gounod). The season opens in Leeds on April 23 – Shakespeare’s likely birthday and tours to Nottingham, Newcastle, Salford Quays and Woking during May and June.

This forum is an opportunity for discussion around opera and Shakespeare – whatever aspect of those huge topics inspires you – but it doesn’t exist without your input, so please take part giving your thoughts and questions for debate with other forum members.

Getting Started
It’s really easy – you do have to register but this is very quick. Go to ‘Register’ on the main menu and create a username and password. Once registered you can post messages on the forum and send messages to other forum members.

How the forum is structured:
Categories
The home page of the forum displays the categories on the forum.
Topics
Within each category there are topics. You can add your own new topic using the ‘new topic’ button, do this to start a new discussion. Or you can post a reply to an existing topic.
Posts
Within each topic there are posts. This is where you take part in an existing discussion by using the ‘post reply’ button.
